Located between Kyoto and Nara City, Joyo is a mid-sized city of approximately 80,000 people. Joyo City is famous for its tranquility, natural beauty and local delicacies such as figs, sweet potatoes and Japanese plums.





Joyo City is very active in the international community, with sisters cities in both Korea (Kyongsan City) and the United States (Vancouver, WA). Joyo is also home to several cultural heritage sites, including the beautiful Mito Shrine, which is located right next to Joyo High School.
