2学期から新しいAETを迎えています。イギリス出身のLaura Lavelle(ローラ・ラベル)先生です。ガーデニングや料理を趣味にされており、アグリサイエンス科のある本学舎にピッタリの先生です。

【Message from Laura】
Hello, everyone! My name is Laura. I'm from England, UK.
I love cooking. In my free time I like to try making new recipes.　I'm looking forward to seeing the big kitchen here at Kumihama school.　I hope that we can cook together.
I also enjoy gardening. I grow vegetables and flowers in my garden. I was happy to be able to buy melons and pears from the school. Recently, I also watched the rice being harvested. This was the first time that I have seen rice being harvested close up. I'm interested to learn more about growing produce in Japan. The weather and conditions are different from those in the UK, so I have a lot to learn.
At university I studied International Business. My dream is to have a food business, maybe an English cooking school because I love cooking and teaching.
I met my Canadian husband when I was an exchange student at Kumamoto Gakuen University, so Japan is a special place for us. We wanted to come back to Japan and show our children where we met.
I'm still studying Japanese, please help me to learn Japanese.
My teaching philosophy is that you don't need to be perfect as long as you try your best.

みなさん、こんにちは! ローラといいます。イギリスのイングランド出身です。
私は料理が大好きで、時間のあるときは新しいレシピを考えたりします。久美浜学舎の海部キッチンで、いっしょに調理できるのを楽しみにしています。
私はガーデニングも好きで、自宅で野菜や花を育てています。久美浜学舎で、生徒の作ったメロンや梨などを購入できるのはとてもうれしいです。先日は、稲刈りを見学しました。近くで見るのは初めてで、日本の農業についてさらに関心が高まりました。気候や環境がイギリスとは異なるので、学ぶことが多いです。
大学では国際ビジネスを専攻していました。夢は食に係るビジネスに携わることです。料理も教えることも好きなので、英語の料理教室が開ければいいなと思っています。
熊本学園大学で交換留学生として学んだ経験があり、そのときにカナダ人の夫と出会いました。ですので、日本は私たち夫婦にとって特別な場所です。日本にもう一度戻り、私たちが出会った日本を子どもに見せたいという思いがありました。
現在も、私は日本語を勉強中です。ぜひ勉強の手助けをしてくださいね。私の教育理念は、「ベストを尽くすのであれば、完璧である必要はない。」です。これからどうぞよろしくお願いします。
