On May 15, students from our Global Inquiry Course participated in an online exchange with St Bernard's College in Australia.
During the session, ten Australian students joined our students in discussing familiar and relatable topics such as family structure, how they get to school, and recommended places to visit in Japan--all in English. Since the Australian students have learned Japanese, some Q&A sessions were conducted in Japanese, creating a meaningful bilingual exchange.
In a post-event survey, all participating students from our school reported that they enjoyed the experience. Many also commented that they gained confidence in their English abilities, realizing they could communicate effectively even with their current level of English.
We look forward to more opportunities to connect with students and schools from around the world in the future.
