6年生が外国語科の学習で「京都いろは日本語学校」を訪問しました。学生に対して、6年生児童が一人一人、日本のお薦めのスポットを「英語」と「日本語」を交互に使って紹介しました。その後、感想を発表し合いました。最後にグループに分かれ、事前に学生から質問を受けていたことについて、6年生が「日本語」で答えました。6年生にとっても学生にとっても、ウインウインのよい交流ができました。子どもたちは、「英語で話せて楽しかった。」と帰りのバスの中で言っていました。西八田の挑戦は続きます。

Sixth graders visited the “Kyoto Iroha Japanese Language School” as part of their foreign language studies. Each student introduced a recommended spot in Japan to the language school students, alternating between English and Japanese. After that, they shared their impressions with each other. Finally, they split into groups and answered questions—previously received from the students—in Japanese. It turned out to be a win-win exchange for both the sixth graders and the language school students. On the bus ride home, the children said, “It was fun to speak in English.” The challenge of Nishiyata continues.
