Contents: This exhibit looks back on the changes in people’s lives, from the time before electricity, gas, and running water became widespread to the present day.

In addition to permanent exhibitions of South-Yamashiro’s distinctive cultural properties in the fields of archeology, history, and folklore, we hold special
exhibitions and planned exhibitions.


Event
We hold various events throughout the year!
Children’s Workshop
In summer and autumn we hold hands-on classes for elementary and junior high school students.
Listening to the curator’s commentary, they learn how to make ancient money “wado-kaichin”,“magatama”, comma-shaped jewels (stones) used to make necklaces, “sannkaku-ennshinnzyu-kyou”,triangular-rimmed ancient mirrors decorated with gods and animals, as well as “dohtaku”, bronze bells.
