The world of faith in the southern Yamashiro region

　Villages in the southern Yamashiro area have strong ties, and religious events are often sponsored by the village.Especially in the worship of guardian deities, Miyaza is run as a ritual organization and is the center of rituals.
　Some towns and Kakiuchi communities have their own religious organizations, such as Himachi-ko and Atago-ko, and some also hold Jizo-bon festivals, which enshrine the local Jizo, as a town event.
　In addition, each family, regardless of the organization of the village or town, offers a variety of prayers as annual events for each season, such as for the smooth growth of crops, welcoming the gods on New Year’s Day, and memorializing spirits during Obon.
