what’s new
Spring exhibition collaboration project “Wish on the Bamboo” In conjunction with the spring special exhibition “Seasonal festival and Dolls,” let’s decorate the bamboo decorations that are displayed during the Tanabata festival with strips of paper containing everyone’s wishes!
Seasonal festival and dolls In this exhibition, we will introduce the Hina dolls and Samurai dolls that are displayed during the “Sekku”, and hope to provide an opportunity to reconsider the wishes for children’s growth in an era of declining birthrates.
Tea picking and tea making experience Reception is over We will hold an experience where you can actually learn how to pick tea, brew tea, and make tea while being taught by students from Kyoto Prefectural Kizu High School!

We hold various events throughout the year!
Children’s Workshop
In summer and autumn we hold hands-on classes for elementary and junior high school students.
Listening to the curator’s commentary, they learn how to make ancient money “wado-kaichin”,“magatama”, comma-shaped jewels (stones) used to make necklaces, “sannkaku-ennshinnzyu-kyou”,triangular-rimmed ancient mirrors decorated with gods and animals, as well as “dohtaku”, bronze bells.
