The structure (order) of Japanese signlanguage is a little different from that of Japanese language.
You should learn signlanguage as if you are learning a foreign language.
Also your facial expression is very important when you use signs.
Please practice sign in front of a mirror.





The theme of this month is "Long holidays".

*At the bigning of May in Japan, four national holidays fall within one week piriod.
This is traditionally a very popular time for the Japanese to travel.

Express the number "five" with your left hand.
Uner the left palm, draw the crescent (representing the moon)
using your thumb and forefinger of your right hand.
(= the 5th month/ May)

With your palms facing down move them together.
Next separate them a short distance and back together again
while moving them across the body from left to right.

NOTES!
��To express a long holiday you should sign "holiday" many times by separating and bringing your hands together many time.
��When asking "What are your plans?" in sign language, it is in the order "planning, what?"
��When asking a question, it is important to express this using facial expression.
��In sign language grammer you can emphasize or cleary express the subject (in this case "I") by restations the subject at the end. (I, Hokkaido, go, I)
